Changing color space changes the Action Editor background?

edited November 2017 in Technical Q&A
Hi,
I was wondering if this is something unique to my PC, but when I change to linear color space, the background of Action Editor actions also gets a lot darker. Making it really hard to read.

Anyone else having this issue?

  • Doesn't occur for me.  Which version of Unity?  It sounds like a Unity bug actually, as the ActionList Editor relies on Unity's own Editor UI code.
  • The latest build I believe - 2017.2.0f3 and latest AC as well.
I haven't noticed this change in any other GUI element. As least the ones that I usually open.
I tried changing Unity GUI colors, but that didn't make a difference.

    Strange..
  • OK, I have the same effect on two other PCs.
This seems to be an issue with Unity free vs Pro.

The AC action node background appears to be tied to the Unity GUI background color - and that can't be changed in the free version (why there is that silly limitation in the first place is beyond me..)

Could you please try this on the free Unity version Chris? I hope you have a spare PC for that.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks, I see the issue.

I'll address this officially in the next update, but in the meantime go to the AdventureCreator/Graphics/Texture folder, select all the "window" textures, disable sRGB (Color Texture) in their Inspectors and click "Apply".
  • Hm! Interesting.. now that you mentioned, you're right. I never paid attention to that, although I don't mind. I think it's because of free version, maybe somekind of limitation.
  • Thanks Chris - that did the trick!
    I appreciate the help.
