Strange pausing on click in one scene only

In my cemetery scene, whenever I click anywhere in the scene tere is a slight pause, as you can see in the video when I click repeatedly.

I have gone through my scene and disabled scene objects, UI objects, but cannot work out what is causing the pausing. There seems to be nothing in my scene thaht is not in other scenes (where this doesn't happen) to cause this.

Any no brainers I am missing here?

Thanks Chris (video below)

  • Unity's Profiler is always the best first port of call when it comes to debugging stuttering issues.

Is the NavMesh of this scene comparatively complex? Try swithing your Pathfinding method to A Star 2D, which is better at handling complex NavMeshes.

  • That was it! Changed to A-Star and worked a treat!

  • So I have this as A Star in my pathfinding section of my scene manager, I assume I don't need any script on my previouds nav mesh? Or do I need to make a new nav mesh once I have switched to A Star? (Tried both approaches and I am still getting pops and clicks on scene start and scene load - and a little click as I scroll the scene. See photos here:

  • The same NavMesh can be used for both types, and you do not need to add any additional scripts - keep Navigation Mesh and remove the A Star component.

Adjust the Navigation Mesh's Cell size field to an appropriate value, and ensure the shape describes the walkable area.

If you're getting stuttering, use Unity's Profiler window to determine the source.
