Bug in Sprite Object Visibility

edited November 1 in Technical Q&A

When in a sprite there is a "Remember Visibility" and it's set to initial state off, this is not respected and even an AC action that toggles the visibility isn't working.

To work, I have to set the initial state on and then hide it via AC list.

I think something is wrong with the "Limit to camera" if it is there.

Comments

  • If I remove the Limit to Camera, it works. It should work even if limiting to the camera is active.

Generally: You could create a script that, if an item is in the inventory, both it's hotspot and it's sprite (which are linked to the inventory ID) are disabled and vice versa automatically.

  • The Remember Visibility component and Action both affect the sprite's visibility directly. AC isn't relying on a separate internal "state", and so it will compete with the Limit Visibility component if both are enabled at the same time.

You can, however, disable Limit Visibility by default, and then use the Object: Call event Action to enable it when you wish for it to take effect.
