Big Picture or what's happening in play mode

edited December 2015 in Technical Q&A
I was wondering is there some window in AC where I can see which action list or cutscene is currently running. Some kind of major node view that highlights active action lists? Or I have to make it by myself by adding additional action on start of all my action lists that sends message to another "Big Picture" action list?

  • As far as I know it doesn't exist, but I might be wrong.

You want to call something if an actionlist is active? You can make a use of an action Actionlist : Check running.
  • Yeah maybe think this could help to build my custom action list that check other lists. But i think it  would great to see in real time which action lists are running. For example when I opened AC Demo 3D scene it took around half and hour to understand which action list doing particular stuff which cutscene starts e.t.c. I mean if i'm work on project for couple of month and then want to delegate it to another person it would really helpful if he could have a big picture of overall game structure.
  • Yes, there's a couple:
    1. Check List active ActionLists in Game window? at the bottom of the Settings Manager.  The top-left corner of the Game window will then list any ActionLists currently running.
    2. If the ActionList Editor window is open while running the game, then any currently-running Actions it shows will be highlighted.
  • Wow! Thank you for tip Chris. This is really awesome especially that window is clickable. So neat that I can find any active action list  in hierarchy just by clicking on it.
